V12 cylinder shut-off system
On the last V12 unit (post 2000 N/A V12) there is a system to shut off certain cylinders when you are not driving hard, to reduce feul consumption...
Anyone know how this works, how well it works, and the exact numbers of feul consumption?

2002 cl600
Active Cylinder Control
I have the system on my 2002 (non turbo) cl600.
The system shuts down the driver side bank when the car is at highway speeds and the transmission is in drive. It is extreamly hard to detect when this happens (I have tried).
I do a lot of highway driving. The combination of Active Cylinder Control and Distronic (microwave guide cruise control) gets me 24 mpg at around 75 mph.
I assume you are aware the MB discontinued the system when they installed the turbos
