16" wheels and shoes

i have become tired of running low profile series tires on my 215's

they are only available in z level compounding[totally unnecessary for most driving in the usa]. they have to be replaced faster than spark plugs. and most of them are unsuitable for freezing weather.

i also think that the low profile tires make for a harder working suspension, and an overall rougher ride.

i also think that they destroy the tire pressure sensors at an unnaturally rapid rate.

my 215's have 18" and 19" wheels.

and i would like to consider replacing them with 16" wheels and h or v rated tires.

any thoughts on doing this?

i run 15 inch wheels on my 560sec, e320cab, 450sel6.9.

and 16 inch on the s500c.

Will the 16" wheels clear the brakes?? If so, giver. I personally think it will make the car look funny having such small wheels and huge tires. But its your car so do what makes you happy. Enjoy the softer ride.

why not just run the CL500 with 17's (like it came with)? sounds like you've tried everything else
