w215 2003 drivers door speakers
Hi Experts
I have just bought myself a 2003 cl500 and i love it to bits....but....i get intermitent sound out of the drivers front speaker near footwell but no sound out of the speaker closest to my rear...i have read the post about shreaded wires because of the hinges, could this also be the cause of the 2nd door speaker not working too.

i had a problem with my rear speakers not working. i searched the wiring high and low and couldn't find anything. but upon testing the speaker wire running to the rear speakers i found out the wiring was good.
the rear speakers themselves actually blew. i'd never seen anything like it and i've been ripping speakers out of old stereos since i was a kid

showed no signs of visual damage. i took it to a car stereo shop and they tested it for resistance and got nothing. they said they never saw anything like it either

i ended up replacing them with car speakers of the same diameter, but higher resistance ratings. they don't sound half bad although i'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement
