CL500 Starting Issue

Hi All
Ive owned my CL500 2003 for about a month and have noticed that once i have locked my vehicle and return, if i open the passenger side door 1st to let the kids in, i then get in to the driver side and go to start the vehicle from the keyless go system, the vehicle will not fire up...it will turn over but no fire up. What i have worked out is that i get everyone out lock the car and leave it for 5 mins then open from drivers and start ignition it fires up but a "check engine " light comes on...but after stopping and starting the vehicle over the day the light goes out...can anyone explain whats going on....Please.

the check engine light goes out after i start the car for the second time, so the code has been cleared

Code is probably still stored even if the light goes out.

Just got the codes checked out and it was the crank sensor that was failing, got it changed, cost me £35 for the part and £10 labour fro local garage...nice suprise..
