fuel smell at high throttle? p0456 code also(yes I've searched)
whenever I floor the accelerator pedal I smell fuel, I don't know if its a rich exhaust smell or fuel itself that I'm smelling. It goes away within seconds of me letting off the gas but a full throttle0-100 mph fills the cabin with a strong smell of gas. i had a p0456 code pop up (evap system) and thought it had to do with the gas cap not being tight since i have not been able to reproduce that particular code. I park everynight in the same spot in my garage and do not see any leaking fuel or smell the gas smell from outside of the car so this is really puzzling me
i also get misfires whenever i give it too much throttle on a cold start (p0300 and p0308 in particular, sometimes p0422 code but i took a crowbar to my bad cat and cleared it out as well as i could and thought the problems went away)
could this all be because of a bad o2 sensor? or am i looking at multiple problems here? please help I am not looking to replace different things until it gets fixed

there is a service bulletin on the cats with free replacement. see if your car qualifies.

Hmm this is interesting. It is definatly something in the fuel system that is not being vented out in the right area. How old is your exhaust system? Sometimes the Gas fume return line can devleope a hole or leak and so when the engine is running and the fumes are being returned to the tank and this means that the fumes will enter the car. You will need to get your car into a shop and have them check the return lines to your tank or start with something simple like cleaning the 02 Sensor first.

it's an 02 cl500 for reference, will the service bulletin still replace my cats even though it's out of warranty? im sort of confused on this one
how do i get to the fuel tank? im pretty well oriented around the car but considering where the gas tank is im guessing theres a process to remove the rear seats?
