IMO you should be looking for a CL with lower mileage. Better to spend the extra money for a low miler. Than paying the same or more bucks in service and parts.

I just picked up a 37k Mile 2002 CL500 for $18K. One small lady owner all books and records and NO interior wear. Outside nicks are minimal and reflect the speedo and no hit body. Mine showed nothing but scheduled dealer service. Not a bolt shows a wrench turn.

The above is very common for older Mercedes. You just have to be patient till one pops up.

Hi,
Just spoke with the owner, 124k miles with 11 mercedes service stamps, 20" custom built rims with new tyres, ABC replaced costing 3K a year ago, no dents or corrosion etc, all electrics working fine, fully loaded with extras all good.No oil leaks etc.No MOT advisorys. Although CL's are pretty rare in the u.k the prices have dropped due to the crazy fuel prices like most other big engined cars. Can get the car for about £3.5k which if all that is said is true sounds pretty good.I can work on cars no probs and if the ABC is sorted then are there any other weak points.
Thanks

Pay a few grand more and get one with the lowest miles and preferably an 03' or newer so you get the updated interior plus the newer headlights and tail lights. I paid a little more for mine but it had super low miles and was very well maintained with service records. I'm glad i did!

These CL's are expensive to repair when things break. What suspension work was done for $3k?
