light sensor, visit workshop
very common problem on these mercedes but it seems no one has found a fix, or at least they aren't keen on sharing as i've searched thoroughly for a solution
the symptoms are -
1.headlights stay on all the time when in "AUTO" setting
2."auto" setting for wipers keeps them at the lowest setting (wiping once every 5 minutes or so)
3.light sensor, visit workshop error message on trip computer
4.nav screen and a/c display stay on the dark "night time" setting, as well as interior button lights
surely somebody has had this happen under warranty and gotten it fixed?
someone suggested checking the wiring harness inside the overhead console (sunroof and cabin light controls) but i had no luck with that method
some people say the rain sensor is the one in the windshield, but the light sensor is the one on the hood? but some say it's the other way around. if anybody knows anything about that i could perhaps get closer to solving this issue. and i've had this problem ever since i got the car (i didn't even know the nav screen and a/c display screen had a day time setting lol) so please don't tell me to change my battery as i've changed it already
