CL500 phone question (Yes, I know, but really...)

(Posted in the Electronics/Audio Tech Forum as well)

Sorry to bring this up, but I just sarted in the MBWorld forum and own a CL500 MY03 and have a few issues about it. First, I have looked and read about adding BT to the car (articles here and in other forums), but it was confusing in that the US Spec car seems to be very different from the Euro version. I read on Visseo and ARGO BT and they seem to be plug an play almost if you have the Ericsson 6130(x) phone cradle. However, the US spec seems to use Motorola V60 phone cradles and involve much more (PSE, VRC, etc...) to work before even bothering with a third party solution. In my car, I don't have the phone cradle or even the center console shelf with port/plugs. Yet my car has COMMAND and does look for a phone (Can't find one of course). My stealership says it's using a TIMEPORTAL version, but I can't find the PSE to see if it is Autosensing or not. I have the built in mic, but no VRC. BT solutions for the CL500 in Europe, can they be used here in the US? No one seems to know, even the Mercedes Stealership's mechanics don't seem to know. And threads with resources are outdated as they existed back in 2009 or earlier, so I can't find a decent 3rd party company without them asking about $1000 or more. Surely our US cars can't be that different from the Euro cars where Visseo claims their MB-1000 would work even if no previous phone was used before, and their system works with the COMMAND. Any help would be appreciated.

I suggest you contact Keith Valentine at 714-746-5930. He helped me in setting up my 2001 CL for the bluetooth system, after my local dealer told me:"It cannot be done"

Bluetooth fix for 2005 cl500

Hi,
I want to concur with calling Keith for help. He took the time to discuss my options and offered a very fair price on the bluetooth adapter.

Call him.
