2005 CL500 tranny fluid question

Hello everyone. I've recently gotten my hands on an 05 cl500. I was just wondering where do I put transmission fluid in it since there is no dipstick. Do I pump it back in through the drain like BMWs? Please get back to me as soon as possible cause I'm trying to get this bad boy on the road Thanks in advance for the help guys.

There is a tranny fill in the engine compartment. It has a black plastic locking device on it (or red replacement if the factory black one has already been opened).

You will need the factory service tool however to measure the fill level at 80 degrees Celsius operating temperature.

Awiner is right on as usual.

Since it is an 01 it is time to do the service. I don't know if your transmission has a torque converter drain plug or not. BTW the latest MB fluid (check Glyn Ruck's posts) probably can be used in your transmission. There are procedures to replace all the fluid if you have a sealed torque converter. Don't believe the nonsense about a lifetime fill. It's an artifact of the cost cutting MB was doing in the 90s-early 200x. The guy who led this effort is gone.
