coolant sensor location
Hi
Please can someone help. . I need to find my coolant level sensor on my 2000 mercedes cl600.. I've checked all round the expansion tank but can't see it.. i can only think that its under the tank which means unbolting it from the car,

The low coolant light based on two sensors e.g. coolant reservoir and wiper fluid reservoir. I have replaced both sensors the light still come on. To answer your question: remove two small hoses on the top remove one screw and pull out the tank which sits on two grommets tightly. Once the tank is off the mounts remove the lower larger hose. The sensor is in the bottom which you can twist and remove. It seems the sensor is mounted in a cavity of the tank not touching the coolant. Good luck and let us know if the light goes away.
