Hi Folks, I am a newbie, I have a CL500, 3RD brakelight warning showed on dash, checked lamp and all bulbs working, however when the boot lid is partially closed the light goes out. Wiggle the wiring loom that comes out of the boot top lining and disappears inside the back of the car and the lamp comes on, close the boot , lamp does not work. Any ideas please?

The wiring loom that runs on between the trunk to the inside of the car has a short. You will need to open the loom, find and repair the wires affected.
This happens because when the trunk opens and then closes it causes a pinch in the loom. The loom runs (on US Cars at least) down the right side of the trunk by the hinge.
This happened to me. First the warnings, then lights stopped working altogether. Found 3 or 4 wires that needed to be repaired.
