Front drivers door speakers not working & rubber seal
I bought a CL55K a few weeks back and have a couple of minor niggles to attend to.
First was the steering wheel buttons looked grubby and the passenger speaker grill was loose. Both issues fixed as I just ordered new parts from the dealer today which I should have this weekend.
Now the remaining issues!
The front speakers on the drivers door do not work (tweeter and driver). The third speaker (mid range?) works perfect. I know the front speakers are linked together and read somewhere it may just be the connector which was a bad design.
Problem is, I can't figure out how to remove the door card. Can any of you shed some light on this or point me in the direction to view a manual?
Finally, the rubber seal on the door has split at the tweeter area on the drivers door which lets in wind noise at around 50mph which drives me nuts. How easy is this to replace?
Thanks in advance, pic below (sadly the best I have
).
I mine the speakers did not work, it turned out the wires were ripped in the boot.
It think you should start there.
I think you can find a "how to remove the door card, mercedes w215" on google.
Its not tricky, but you must know how or else you end up braking something, there is a lock that must be released behind the seat control unit on the door card.
As to weather strip, I have not tried that yet.
Cool car by the way.

I think may just get an independent specialist to replace the seal then as I don't want to mess around and break anything else on the car!
Figured the smaller section probably contains the speaker cables as there were only four cables there which would make sense - 2 for front and 2 for rear. Didn't want to tear off the entire sleeve and the cables felt tight.
Think I will pass this onto a MB specialist to have a look into. Everything else works on the door and don't want to damage any other wires. Suppose they can replace the rubber seal round the door at the same time anyway.
