Some newbie questions about the CL
2. Being a MB newbie, how can I quickly tell the difference between a CLK and CL? I just don't want to prove my stupidity by confusing the two cars.
3. Is there are MB car club, similar to the BMW CCA or the Quattro Club? Is it very good?
4. How important is the break-in period for the CL600? I don't think I'll be hitting the speed limiter, but I'm not one to obey the 55 mph limit.
That's it for now. Thanks for any advice/thoughts on the matter.

Even if you are a "newbie", the CL and CLK look totally different from all angles. You shouldn't have any problems picking the differences out in ost instances.
There are several MB car clubs, both local and regional. Maybe someone that knows specifics on some can reply to this. Personally I am still looking into starting a local chapter AMG club here in So. California. The AMG Club in Europe may be expanding into the US region, however, I have not heard from them in sometime. Guess it's time to fire off another Email.
Break in routines will vary from EVERYONE you ask. I am a stern beliver in break in routines. For the 1st 1000 miles just vary your RPMs and keep from exposing the engine to extreem loads. Other people will tell you to drive it like a bat out of hell right off the dealers lot.
I'm with you on the importance of break in. I really take it easy for the first 1000 miles and am very careful to vary the engine speeds. I've heard some people say you get a faster car if you are rough on the break in- but you pay for it in smoothness and longevity.

beyond that, after you see a few CLKs and CLs, you will easily be able to tell the difference - size, interior trim, etc.
1) Check out www.EvoSport.com.
2) Oh, you will be able to tell the difference, trust me
.3) The official Mercedes Benz Club of America can be found at www.mbca.org.
4) Break in's are extremely important as stated above.
