need help for rear sam
I got my cl500 2 months ago. I send my car to body shop for repair. During the battery voltage drop. Soft close for rear trunk, doom light, rear turn signal light, and fuel gague . doesn't work at the same time. I brought the car to th dealer and check. They said the problem cause by the interstate battery and the rear sam . and they want to replace the battery that cost 430$ and the rear sam for 968$ plus two hours for troubleshooting that cost 200$.
But i have supplyer that sell a band new oem sam for 500$
I want to know that if i can replace the sam by myself or has to do it by dealer only?
To replace the sam do i need to reflash the moduel after?
What is the procedure for replacing the rear sam?

You can replace the SAM easily yourself but it will need programming via the Star Diagnostic System (DAS).
Do you have a good indy shop with the workshop computer in your area to read and transfer the data ?

Thx for the replay.
When i pick up the car. I ask the service adviser. If i can bring my new oem rear sam. And they will install and refresh it for 1.5hr lab. And he said he need to copy the data from the old rear sam and refresh to new sam.

I am shopping not selling...
I need to update the programming in my rear SAM, for low voltage, not charging the battery...
