2003 cl500 no sound? few questions

hi guys.

the boot of my car was jetwashed by a valeting company :/

basically the silver box that i believe to be the tuner is goosed it has rusted and a radio repair shop has said its beyond saving.

i was wondering is this box just a tv tuner of also the radio tuner? i ask because the head unit still seems to search and find stations all be it no sound.

on top of that i have done some reading and found that if component in the chain is down all sound will stop. on this note i noticed that when i press the cd button the screen displays no cd changer so i would also hope someone could point me towards the correct fiber optic loop so i an bypass the changer

thanks
craig

To bypass the CD changer in the trunk, you need to unplug the fiber optic cable from the back of the changer and install the loop there.
