CL 500 suspension issue

bought an 03 cl 500 very cheap, the guy needed money right away...he had not even titled the car to him yet.
He bought it with the ABC fuses removed...he said the previous owner said it worked but disconnected it. I know it makes NO SENSE....his wife just wanted it Now she is gone so he wants the car gone.

I cant find the size of the fuses I will need to even try to see if it is working or not. Can anyone tell me the correct size fuses I will need.
It is missing all 3 fuses for the ABC system.
If after putting them in and the compressor pump does not kick on....what should I check for. There was a full bottle of MB fluid for the system in the trunk. So wonder if there was a leak? if the compressor is low on oil will that keep it from coming on
Any help to trouble shoot will be greatly appreciated thanks

I think this guy lied to you

The abc system is a hydraulic system using a pump , it is always running as its driven by the belt

it is not the airmatic air suspension that uses A compressor

It will not be working...but, do not despair, you can put struts with springs and dampers in.

Can the replacement be done without taking it too a shop....I am somewhat mechanical and have done suspension work before on my 635 bmw and Dually truck.
Or is this something that needs to be done by a shop

Depends what you are replacing

Do you mean converting the car to steel springs ? You can do that yourself but it's very labor intensive and will cost $1000-1600 just in parts

or do you mean fixing the required parts of the abc suspension to regain a propriety working abc suspension ? That will require a Mercedes SDS computer to diagnose . It could be something as simple as a $250 abc pump from Rockauto , but the reason the suspension isn't working may not be economically practical to fix , especially if there is metal debris in the system and all major parts must be changed .

There was a reason the car was sold cheaply with a failed suspension and it wasn't blown fuses . A major abc failure typically results in the car being junked as its not economically feasible to repair

Yank out the ABC and replace with the yellowspeed coilovers and u will be fine. you only need regular tools to swap out the struts. I don't remember all off the top of my head but u will need 13mm 18mm 21mm and a torx set pretty much. I did mine in a few ours. I advise against troubleshooting the ABC system.
