2002 cl600
Sell them or keep them
Like Musfather I have a new cl600.
Unlike Musfather I agree with the post in that thread that new wheels are inorder.
I replaced mine with a set of 18" Brabus Monoblock VI. The car looks great.
Now the question. The original wheels and tires have about 1,500 miles, and the spare has 0 (yes I bought a 5th wheel and tire). Do I sell them or keep them?
If I sell them it will help offset the cost of the replacement (which was not cheap). If I keep them and some day want to sell the CL I know someone is going to say I want the car original.
Any opinions?

I suggest that you hold on to them it will be a pain now to find room and have them but in the long run it is a good idea. Not having the factory rims may change many interested buyers away from buying the car when you are ready to sell.

If you can, keep them. But if they were the AMG 18" that you can order as an option, it would be a different matter - no one would know they were after market. Who knows, you may buy another CL or S in the future, and can change the wheels onto the new car.

Well I would consider if you make any long trips. I put 19" rims on my S500 when I first bought it. Since then, I have made two trips from FL to NJ. I kept the original wheels in the attic, and put them on before each trip for two reasons. One, the larger rims look great, but are not a particularly smooth ride for long distances. Second, the amount I could get for my factory rims/tires is less than what new tires alone cost for the 19's, so why put 4000 miles of wear on them for two weeks of driving. If you have space, keep them.
