NEW. POSSIBLE CL purchase

Looking at a 2005 CL500 Granite Gray Metallic in color. 85000 miles. Has had immaculate maintenance. Owner asking 7,000.00. Has had 2 struts and the pump replaced on the ABC. I am wondering if this is worth the purchase. I am an avid e38 BMW fan, but moving into the MB world. I have read a ton about the CL's, and I am torn. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

its a very nice car but as you likely have read the abc system parts are all at the end of their useful life so budget for abc repairs

aside from that all other issues are minor- transmission electrical connector , accelerator pedal , cps, etc

Sounds like a well cared for car and a great price. I think maintenance is the key. I have a granite grey 2005 CL55 with 100k miles that I have had for 10 years and I have never had any major problems with it.

Including tires and brakes, I have never spent more than $3k a year. I have a great mechanic and he takes awesome care of it.

By the way granite grey is a great color and doesn’t show the dirt.

The only additional thing I would say is i might think about a CL55 rather than a CL500 if you could find one in as good of condition. The reason I say that is the super charger is a blast and really transforms the car. The CL55 also usually came with all the options because it was significantly more expensive. However at this point there is not much of a price difference between the 2 cars.
