My CL600 is pretty much all sorted out with new ABC stuff and all. No issues I know of. I have it listed to sell but am being offered a partial trade with a 1997 S600 Coupe. Supposedly no issues and in the color combo I love. I am told the W140 is much quieter and smoother and more robust than the 03 CL600 I have. I realize its over 150 less HP but I am in the process of fixing up both my houses and would like to free up some cash. Looking at book values, if he trades me the car and $5500 it seems in line. Anyone else here have or have had the S600 Coupe? How do/did you like it compared to the W215 CL600?

I owned a w140 S600 and Cl600 and now have Cl65 W215. While I love the W215 for its looks, the W140 is more comfortable, more solid, more luxury feeling as compared to sport w215. The Cl600 W140 is quite fast on highway actually. At the time I had the W140's, I also had a C5 z06 and stock the S600 was equal on highway pulls. Incredibly quiet and refined when running correctly. The main issues are the rear hydraulic spheres which can make the ride rough and the usual door assist pump etc. Unbelievable car for the money as long as it was taken care of.

Also raced the 750li when it was new (the turbo) and the w140 was faster on highway every time-Beast on the highway-tall gearing makes 0-60 not great but otherwise is a joy.

1996 and later is best years in my opinion as W140 got more modern and has 5 speed with no electric issues on wiring harness.
