Speaker Noise
Morning, any help would be appreciated with the following....
The speakers in my CL500 have started to make a crackling noise and today a thumping noise, it sounds like I'm playing some sort of dance music without the radio even being on or the ignition. I think it's something to do with water as it's worse in heavy rain....
I've opened the boot and there is water down the sides of the boot lid and damp on the carpet near to the CD Changer... Are these linked..? If so is there a solution..?

The amplifier and all the wiring is right there below the CD-changer, in a well that can and does fill up with rain water. Remove the spare tire and pull the interior trim from around that side of the trunk and have a look. The solution is to find where the rain is coming past the weatherstripping that surrounds the trunk lid.
