No lowbeam/highbeam / cracked harness
2003 CL 55
Drivers side headlight stopped working.. Put a power probe to the wiring (with no outer case left!!) and I'm not getting any power on that side.
Ordering two new harnesses from oem xenon, has anyone ordered from here before?
inside light and turn signal still work. Should be just the harness, no?
Thanks!!
Nic

ordered from where ?
yes no power because the whole headlight system is made so that when lights are missing power is shut down to them and if your car has stock programming
In central gateway CGW you have a option activated called "lights replacement" that triggers this
two other modules are concerned, HLCM-L and R (left and right headlamp module)
once you get your new cables and mounted them you can reset the light back on by simply disconnect the battery for 30+ min
or, if you have Xentry DAS, the tool some people never use, you can reset it in there; then delete the DEEP fault history, that if you once sell your car is not good to keep in the car.
if your headlight still doesn't come back up, you could have a burned headlight ballast (transformer) or HCM module
all this takes just one click if you have Xentry and SDconnect

I forgot to mention
I bought a repair kit for many cases
official mercedes repair is the same method
Mercedes does not recommend replacing entire harnesses at all
of course, if you have lots of money and like to spend it on harnesses instead of upgrades or simply want your car to look like stock you can
and mecedes loves your money !
proof in mercedes WIS many people never use here:

Thank you so much!! Massive help.
These guys have the harness. 2 for $98 shipped.
Doesn't seem too bad. The whole wire is really cracked and I live in an apt and don't have access too a shop at the moment, so re doing the harness myself would be quite annoying.

My main beams are dim and they will flash off while going over huge bumps, the wiring seems to be going bad. This is most evident with the wiring to the standing lights, the wires are visibly frayed. Wasn’t able to find a replacement harness for the w215, I saw one online for the CLk models but I don’t think those have the same connectors we do
