CL500 has an intermittent starting problem.

Sometimes I drive somewhere and then park and shut off engine. If I try to start it up again it does not turn over and I have to wait for a while maybe 20 to 30 minutes, then it starts up with no problem. The battery seems to have plenty of power to turn engine over after it sits for a bit. Any ideas why this is happening?

I am puzzled why as soon as I shut the engine off when the alternator should have been keeping the battery charged while it was running, it would not have enough juice to turn the engine over, but letting it sit for a short time would allow it to turn over with no problem?

I don't know if I made it clear but when it turns over the battery is strong, not week. I believe there is another reason for this, but I may wind up trying another battery since no one seems to have experienced this and I am not sure where to turn. Intermittent electrical problems are an expensive rabbit hole with repair shops.

battery seems to have plenty of power "seems" is not clear

Just find someone with Xentry and take a look in the diagnostic result, guessing without diagnostics can cost you a lot
could also be your EIZ

To me it sounds more like the starter on the way out.
