Grumbly/vacuumy sound from front left

When giving it gas at low RPMs, the car makes an occasional rumble at me, like bbrrrrgggmmmpphgg; It sounds like some vacuum thing. It’s from the engine area.
Any ideas what this might be?

I have 2005 CL65 and had a similar problem - growling noise front left at low rpm (approx 1100 rpm). Read all the MBZ articles I could find. After independent repair shop replaced a belt pulley, motor and transmission mounts, the sound (and light vibration) remained. Took to local MBZ dealer after ABC hose spit open. They identified that front left ABC actuator was failing and causing the noise. After replaced, sound is gone and car ride is much improved.
I feel your pain...it was a frustrating journey. Hope this helps.

Is that the pulsation damper? It really doesn't sound like it would be hydraulics, and it's not a constant whine; It's like.... Air getting sucked into a tube that does't want it or something like that.

Really difficult to describe; Like a crocodile clearing its throat
