Okay so I bought a hydro locked cl65. Tore engine apart and found 1 bent rod everything else perfect! But as I was tearing the motor down And removed the oil pan I found hard rubber pieces! I can’t seem to find where it came from and would like to find the source before I put the engine back together. I tried searching everywhere and can’t find a answer. The only answer I found is that it could be bits of the rubber damper from the main timing chain gear. If that’s the case I think I can just clean it up and leave it like that. What you guys think?
I think there was another post about this in the m275 subforum.
I think it’s a piece for the gear in the front of the engine (part of the timing chain mechanism). Not 100% sure, you might want to dig and you’ll find.
I think so to after cleaning the pieaces it looks like it is. Wanted to avoid removing the timing cover. But I guess I’m going have too to make sure it is that. If it’s that you think it’s fine to leave it like that. Hopefully the pickup didn’t pick it up surprisingly there’s no pickup screen like other cars. Unless it’s not visible
