2001 SLK320 and 2004 CL500
Distronic External Malfunction
Hi,

The distronic function on my car seems to set okay but after a few minutes of driving it deactivates and posts the message "Distronic deactivated external malfunction". Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

I suggest that you check the connectors at the radar unit. The multi-wire connector, that clips in was lose on one of the clips.
Make sure that you give the connector a quick blow with some compressed air (or use a vacuum cleaner)

Also, make sure that the sensor is centered. Use the 3 screws at each corner (except one) to center it as best as you can
