Saw in a dealership- one of the CL55/600 competitors today
Today, while checking out a Caddy SRX for my wife's winter car, the saleswoman at Steve Foley, Northbrook, IL told me to check out the Bentley GT. Wow, seeing that car for the first time I need to say the lines are amazing. My first sense was that this car is very feminine, my opinion. The saleswoman told it would take eight months to get one for MSRP. I not a lover of Bentleys since my 2001/2 Arnage as a lemon. Yes a Bentley Lemon. I effectively switched cars to a Arnage T with no cost to me. Since then, I would never buy another Bentley, but this is one amazing car. They wouldn't let me testdrive it as it was sold already.

Mercedes C400, BMW X3
Want one?
I drive a 2004 CL600 and have a 2005 Bentley Continental GT in dark green metallic with saddle interior due to arrive late next month. You can buy it from me for $30K over MSRP. Check out the Car & Driver comparison of the Bentley and Merc a month or two ago and you will understand why.

i looked at the gt in the showroom when i picked up my t from service. sleek and impressive... i liked the new dash layout as well.... the saleperson i bought my car from wanted me to take it for a spin and i refused. he knew if he got me in it, it would be gone. yes, there was a 40K markup but it was "negotiable". whats up with these guys and their markups? i bought my t a few years ago at less than half the near 300K sticker and it just turned 12k miles.

United Auto has a dealership in North Phoenix with every imaginable luxury brand in one place. It just so happened when I went in to put a deposit on a DB9, they were doing a Bentley ride and drive. They had five of them with manufacturer plates available for anyone who wanted to drive them.
Literally, it felt like I was driving the $180,000 version of my VW Touraeg. The steering is too light, the car feels too big with bad visability, and the car feels too slow because it's so heavy. There is absolutely no fun to drive factor.
Even though I've never even seen a DB9 in person, there is no way I'd choose the Bentley over it after driving it. I would happily take either the DB9 or the CL600 any day.
