Display on cluster is weak

Hey guys the display on the center screen on the instrument cluster is sometimes unreadable.. I am not sure if this is a light senor problem or if this happens before it completely goes out.

Sometimes it works fine and other times it does not.
I found the part on ebay, could it just be swapped out?

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue in my CL 55, can you tell me if you ever got it fixed?

I think that if it where a light sensor problem, the whole cluster would have dimmed.
It might be the zebra strips (I assume that those are used) that connect the PCB to the LCD.
I think they can get bad as a result of the high temperatures/temperature variations

No you can't, the cluster has to be programmed.
I'm not sure what needs to be programmed, but the VIN certainly needs to be programmed.
