Fuel smell in trunk and cabin

Hi
I recently bought a car (CL500 2001) and drove it couple of days. The certified car mechanic just fixed new crankshaft sensor after that i couldn start the car couple of times. Now it starts perfectly.
After that I refueled the car (ca. 3/4 of the tank). The day after, strong smell of petrol was in the trunk and car. No leak under the car and no petrol puds in the trunk.
I took out everything from the trunk and disassembled completely rear seats in search of leak.
After some time of leak searching I noticed that the top and the backside of the tank against the rear seats (took of plastick cover in the middle from behind rear seats) was moisture with fuel. Isolation material which covers the tank was soaked.

Is there any obvious place/things i should check out before I empty the whole tank and dissasembled it?

Thanks in advance....

Well, I have a 216, but in that case there are a couple plastic covers around the access point to the fuel filter that crack, and allow fumes to enter the passenger compartment. Perhaps yours has a similar setup? I'm just here on 215 learning, because I want to add a 215 CL600 or AMG at some point.
