Priming ABC pump
Opinions please, I have had to replace abc hose on CL215 and now need to prime the pump and bleed the system.
reading on here on several methods but looking at the abc reservoir and realised that a tyre valve fits and seals if pushed hard into the filler neck. I Understand that you do not need a lot of pressure to prime the pump, say 10psi
so I thought I could connect a cheap tyre inflator to the valve and push firmly down onto the filler neck and switch it on until I think the level has gone down then refill and repeat.
I cannot believe I am the first to think of this there must be a catch.
anybody got any thoughts? Would this work without damaging anything?
so your opinion would be appreciated

I used quick release fitting, crammed into the reservoir side of the return line. That way you'll put the reservoir under pressure. Be careful that you don't pop out your dipstick
I think a 2 or 3 bar is enough, but I'm not sure

2 or 3 bar sounds a lot of pressure. I would be worried the plastic reservoir would split if too much pressure.
tried my method yesterday seemed to work but now got another leak at front so having a rethink about scrapping the car. Love it to bits but car costing too much, now 21 years old. Next car will not need STAR diagnostics!
