Question CL500 aftermarket subwoofer

Hey guys,

I bought a few days ago CL500 '00 and I'm very happy with the car. The previous owner told me that the subwoofer needs to be changed since it's banging on bass.
I looked up on Google how to replace the subwoofer and I quickly learned that it's quite frustrating to do, but it's not the biggest problem.
Can any of you maybe recommend from your experience a great subwoofer that will fit CL500?
I also asked for a quote from a local shop, but I expect it to be somewhat expensive (I assume around 1000$, with all the labour and complete audio system remake).
I'm located in the EU, so maybe some of the US shops will not deliver to my country.
Any help and links are appreciated!

Access to the sub is painfull to sum it up. THe official process is to remove the ENTIRE rear deck, maybe the rear seat, C pillars, rear sunshade. The engineer that designed this should really be $h0t. A simple mounting bracket from the trunk with rubber isolators could have been designed to make life easier for everyone in the future. Don't get me started about the two speakers in the doors. Same problem, you need to remove the 4 layers of door materials to remove the speakers where they could have designed the speaker grill with exposed screws to remove them and disconnect the speakers. That engineer should be $h0t twice.

With my car I just ended up disconnecting the factory subwoofer and added my own sub in the trunk. I added as much foam or stuffing to the rear top deck as i could to stop the rattle and it is actually pretty good. Only complaint is that truck space had to be sacrificed. But the sound is great.
