Hi all I have a cl55 with automatic trunk. At this time its not self opening or closing.
What i have done so far.
1) check PSE pump and latch = WORKING
2) ran Xentrey Diagnostics no codes
tried to initialize the trunk = Failed
a)first step - open trunk = Success
b)second step - close trunk using button = failed
Please let me know what else i can test.

Turn it over to your dealer service.

Hahahaha. It's not that serious... I'm sure it's an easy fix.

I had similar problem. Fixed by changing out switch, and then normalized trunk via Xentry.

which switch did you have to replace? Did it show up in xentry as being bad?

The switch I replaced is the one in the trunk lid, the one you push to close. I can't remember if it showed bad in Xentry, but IIRC I think it did show no activation. I tried everything to get it to work, and finally bought a used switch on Ebay and that fixed it. Figured it was worth $15 to try at that point.

Looked at my notes. Switch I replaced was PN 220-821-7251

Just a quick update, I resolved the trunk issue. The drain plug was completely clogged underneath the pump. I pushed out the plug drained the water. Dried the foam housing. Took the cap of the top of the pump and it was not good. I cleaned everything out and blew out all the water. I then try to put power to it and got spark from the plug. I took the pump off of the pump housing. The pump wasn't turning so I grabbed a pair of needle nose pliers and loosened it back and forth. I then applied power again to the plug and it spun. Re-dried everything off clean everything as much as I could reassembled and now the trunk is working. My only question is how do I set the height as it only opens halfway with the button. I checked the convenience settings on the dash but there was no option for the trunk...
