Looking at 2008 CL AMG 63
Good morning all,
Hope you all had an amazing Christmas with your families.
I've been looking at a 2008 CL63AMG and not knowing much about these, wanted to reach out to the community. This AMG has 129,000 miles on it and looks to be an amazing condition. Over the weekend I requested the Carfax from the dealership and I'm currently awaiting their response. Assuming the Carfax doesn't come out with any blatant red flags, what do I need to know when looking at a high mileage AMG? Many of my friends that have had them tell me that they're an almost bulletproof car, would you all agree with that statement?
P.S if there's a thread on this somewhere that I missed, I'm happy to read it over if someone would provide the link.

Not exactly bulletproof. These are complex cars with aging electronics and the one you are asking about has high miles to boot.
Proceed with caution and get a PPI from a Benz expert at a minimum.
That said, the M156 is a stellar motor which will never be duplicated again. Put one in a CL and you have a superb 4 seat long distance cruiser with a exhaust note to die for. The MPG (and how often you are filling the tank) may get old but the sound never will :-)
