Keyless go fuse rating

Hi everyone and HELP.....

Simple question, does anyone know the fuse rating for the keyless go on my 2003 CL55AMG kompressor?

Just over a year ago while suffering severe battery drain problems from a poor cluster repair my keyless go stopped working, cluster finnalty fixed and no more battery drain, only just the other day did i get to look into why the keyless go had stopped and found it to be as simple as a blown 7.5amp fuse in the fuse box under the rear seat and now its all good again BUT reading up on it some are 7.5amp others are 10amp?

My thinking is it may have blown as its only 7.5 and should be 10, but then again i know that sometimes fuses do tend to just blow..........

Google is useless as when i ask the question it tells me everything but what i actually want to know!

7.5amp or 10amp?

thanks in advance

If the OE fuse was 7.5, then replace it with 7.5. If you have an ammeter, you can check the current that's being drawn by the keyless go system. If 7.5 fuses are blowing frequently, there's likely a problem in keyless go module wired on this circuit. If you install a higher amp rated fuse, you risk damaging the wiring, which is usually a major headache to repair.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I have no issues with it since replacing the fuse, its not blown again and is working just fine I just wondered if it was the correct value fuse as ive read somewhere its 10amp not 7.5?

The fact its not blown again I suppose would suggest 7.5amp is fine 👍

Oh and the reason I queried it in the first place is that someone has been there before and had not re fitted the fuse box correctly as all the fuses was half covered by bodywork so they wasnt removable, I had to remove the seat cussion and metal cover to gain access to fit the fuse box correctly.
