Engine temp - CL600 2002

Engine temp - CL600 2002
Just wondering if fellow CL600 (MY2002) owners has the same experience:
In freeway traffic going over 60 mph, the engine temp stays at about 82 c, which I think is quite normal. However, when in stop and go taffic, or in idle, the temp goes to 95 rather quickly. It will stay at 95 and will not go past it. Some people tell me this is normal for this car. But I had a 2002 S430, that had temp stayed in the 80's no matter what the traffic pattern is.
Should I have it checked, or is this a normal to this car? Input from Cl600 owners are appreicated!

For what it's worth, I have an '02 CL500 and it does the same thing. In general, I think cars tend to run hotter in stop and go traffic.

I talked to a indie mechanic, who used to be a foreman in a dealer, he told me this tempurature range is perfectly normal. This was confirmed by a service advisor at the Rusnak Arcadia dealership, who said this temp range is normal, and it is the optimum tempurature for the engine. So I guess, it is normal, based on to opinion from two different sources.
But I will continue to monitor my temp gauge, as it is very different from my previous cars. Thanks for the responses.
