I heard from local dealer that it is not coming out until early spring as a 2008 model which I find hard to beleive.

Anyone heard from their dealers?

Not sure about dealers, but you can probably pick up from Saks Fifth Avenue in their holiday catalog. Limited Edition will be sold. Limited Quantities as well.

We have been told 300 units in November and 300 in December of the CL550 this year.

My dealer knows nothing about nothing....no specs, no nothing. They didn't even sound too aware of spyshots on the Internet.

Most dealers want to sell you the current body style or anything off the floor. I've heard Oct-Dec 2006....and I can see a mark up emerging for those lucky first few buyers..

Yes, that's what I saw on my dealer's screen yesterday. There appear to be some things missing that have been mentioned in magazine articles. Designo? Three levels of leather interior? Alcantara headliner? Are they gone for good, or just not there yet?

Speaking of options, I am wondering if the optional "drive dynamic seats" and the myriad of adjustments (12?) will result in "enhanced" seating for the "larger" CL buyer ?

when I was at MBUSA headquarters in Montvale NJ today for the AMG fest there were 3 new CL550's parked in their test service center. The interior is exactly like the W221 S-class and I mean EXACTLY like it. The car is beautiful, all 3 were silver, 2 still had coverings. I want one SOOO BAD. The pictures DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE!

The Guide uses the following codes on the CL550 Leather

801-Black
804-Savanna/Cashmere
807-Cognac/Black Leather
808-Grey/Dark Grey

8 series Leather is the "Premium", 2 series is the standard(S550), the CL600 and any Designo should have 5 series "Exclusive" leather that normally includes alcantara headliner/pillars. I am sure there will be Designo series cars sometime in the new year, Hopefully they will do a Launch edition of some sort as well.

Look in the computer system; there seem to be a bunch of Designo cars coming in (in fact, they seem to be just about all Designos), but my dealer can't figure out how to order one.
