SLR doors aren't exactly lambo doors. I'd say they're more gullwing-esque to describe. As opposed to the lambo's completely vertical doors the SLR doors open in between that and gullwing style doors.

The car was also designed with them, that makes a difference in structural rigidity. Putting lambo doors on a car that doesn't come with them is just plain dumb...
The only reason I can see someone putting those on is too be flashy like an exotic, ie posing

Yes, finally someone who agrees! Lambo doors go straight up/down, all these after market doors you see described as "Lambo-style doors" open at an angel. Almost need a new cat., as they are not true gullwings.

look - whether the doors go up at an angle, go up then left, swing upward, lift skyward, go up then do a cartwheel, whatever....what difference does that make?
the factory door opens out and the kit opens up.
Its like putting in a aftermarket flip up stereo and have naysayers saying "Hey Mercedes didnt design the stereo to flip out..."
Would it be ghetto to have your hood open from the back like a Jag?

Its always these guys that think if some horn rimmed glasses wearing old German fart didnt think to do it, then it doesnt belong.
Thats BS. Gullwing doors were invented by Mercedes....go for it if thats what youre feeling. Shoot, 90% of the time your doors will be closed while your on the road and people will be drooling all over your car, you actually think the way you step out of the car is going to actually make the haters say "he ruined his car by the way the doors open?"
Even the new SL-C they are doing for 2010 will have gullwing doors. If ANY car can get away wil Lambo or gullwing doors, It's MB. I know several people who put Lambo doors on their Gallardo and people are like "WOW!"
