Illuminated Door Sills
I finally got my illuminated door sills installed into my CL600. As they are OEM, they were not the easiest task...easily 6-7 hours for the untrained like me. I was trying to install them via the front under dash electricals but in fact they needed to be hooked up via the rear fuse box and ground. I got the technical install instructions from my MB dealer: 1) remove trunk lining to ground and mount control module, 2) remove rear seats to access fuse box and terminal, 3) wire to elctrical bus under front passenger seat, and 4) put everything back together. Removing the original chrome upper sills was the easiest part.
I still need to install the lower brushed stainless steel sills. I may keep them chrome for now.
