I have 20" AMG 5 spoke wheels on my CL550 4Matic
With 255x35 Continental tires

I wonder if it's good to use the same wheels with same size winter tires?
Have anyone ever tried that?

because usually it is recommended to use 18-19" wheels on winter. I was told that driving 20" with 255x35 winter tires may me very uncomfortable for my *** and may damage my wheels. Because winter tires are harder then summer tires.

Hope there is someone with such experience on this forum...

 

18" optimal for snow traction and ride comfort. Smaller diameter improves "bite" in snow conditions.

I have a set of Blizzaks with wheels and pressure sensors available if interested. Approx 2000 miles on them and in perfect shape. I used them on my S550 4-matic with sport package. Highly recommended for snow driving. They also preserve treadwear on the costlier summer tires and potential rim damage.

BTW, these cars are tanks in deep snow especially with the right tires!
