2010 E350 4Matic
First our CL 55 AMG is a C215, so it doesn't count in this list. We also have my wife's CLK 550. We bought the CLK 550 when we were 55 years old.
However, I bought my first Mercedes Benz when I was 15 years old, in 1975. Since there were no CLs being made then I couldn't have bought one. What I did buy was
My first car, a 1956 1/2 Mercedes Benz 190 four door sedan, with four on the tree, a ed leather interior and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The car is still on the road with over 750,000 miles on it. No wonder I love Mercedes Benz automobiles.
a 1956 1/2 190. No, not that 190, but a 190 sedan. It had four doors and a four of the tree transmission. The car came in that horrific German industrial green that I changed to white, after repairing the rocker panel along the edges of all four doors. We didn't use "Bondo", but my father taught me to do "leading", so as to replace the rusted metal with metal. What a concept! The car had just gotten a beautiful new red leather interior which looked amazing with the white exterior. I worked all he while attending school dating back to elementary school, so I paid for the car myself, with cash. I started my own business when I was 13 and had been saving money from that time, so not only did I buy the car myself, I also bought a Martin D-35 guitar too.
An amazing fact about my first Mercedes Benz is that the car is still on the road today, with over 750,000 miles on the clock. It has the same paint job that my father and I gave the car back in 1975 too. It was owned by one of my best friends who, when he crossed over almost three years ago, willed the car to his son. The son drives the car daily to and from work and has even done road trips in the car from Ohio to Florida two times a year for the last two years. The only bad thing is that the car doesn't have air conditioning, so he's thinking about either having an aftermarket, "time period correct" air conditioning unit or just driving a different car, but it's become a point of pride with him driving the car on vacation to his condo in Florida.
I hope you all will forgive me for the intrusion and being slightly off topic.
Best regards to you all~

2012 CL63 AMG
I will be 80 in a few months (hard for me to believe). I have had a few MB's in the past but I just purchased a 2012 CL63 AMG (C216). It has 42K miles and is perfect...almost.
I cannot get the halogen upper beams to work- either side. If anyone can help, please advise.

Have you read the manual?
I am on holiday at the moment so do not have the manual with me, but I am sure they might only come in the dark on the motorway.

Maybe.......
Does the car advise any faults on dash?
if none displayed I suspect they are working.
if you had STAR diagnostic laptop you could plug in and it would say if they were not working.
Are the lights bright enough when you drive at night?
i would suspect a car with your mileage it is all ok and everything works.
on a side note I suspect that W216 chassis will be sane as W220 chassis in that you need to remove the headlight to change bulbs.

Yes, have read the book. Have tried them in light and in dark. Have tried them with night vision on and off. Made a matrix to have all possible combinations- no joy. Unless my wife is lying to me, they don't work. The manual says there is a really nice 4" removable disk to get your hand in. It's not where the book shows on the top of the front partition. I found them on the back vertical side of the partition. Got the left one off and felt around. It is not close to the bulb and can feel no wires or anything like a bulb holder. The manual seems to show a H3 bulb but calls for a 55W H11 which is in a 90 degree configuration and doesn't seem correct. Additionally, the manual appears to say that this is all tied into enhanced night vision which this car has as an option.
In this and other things, the dear Owners Manual sucks.

Inherited a 2008 CL600 in Mystic White with designo porcelain white and piano black lacquer last year when I was 35. Currently has about 90k miles. Dreading the maintenance that I have to put into it. Thankfully, it is not my daily driver; I take it out of the garage once every week or so, provided the weather is favorable. They run much better in the cold.

It’s worth keeping!!!
I think they are only going to go up in valve as time goes by.
if you were to only do one maintenance item to it, flush the suspension system with new oil and change the filter.
the suspension failing puts a lot of W216 chassis beyond economic repair.

2008 MB C350 4MATIC/2011 CL63 AMG/2014 C63 Coupe 507
PURCHASED MY 2011 CL63 in 2018 when i was 27. Now a good dirty thirty.
Always wanted this vehicle back around 2013 when i saw the CL63 vs lambo on youtube. Thought the CL overall was badass. Well, owning one made me realize, its a devil in an angel's form, especially tuned..
Stay safe all and happy driving

Gagging
I love the 11-14 CL even the base. The body is just an all around perfect design. I honestly can not look at an 07-10 with gagging. When I see an 11-14 I just cant stop starring. I esp. love any of them with the 20" special order wheels. The car just flows. I find myself spending hours, sitting and starring at it. I don't even do that with my GT Speed. I have never felt a connection to a car like the this CL not even my CL 600 AMG from 06. Its pretty but there is something just not quite right about it. Maybe the round headlamps look dated or the heavy rear quarters. I have been thinking of selling that one. It only has close to 4K miles in Boudreaux and Java with the AMG package.
