Interesting comparison. I have a cl-550 2008 and a gl-430 2007. The build quality in my opinion is similar however the product quality ( finish) is consistantly higher in the cl. Cant compare luxury or ride comfort as two different animals.
The quality of both products have elevated over the previous 216 cl series
and the older ml. Mercedes seems to finally be geting back to listening to the voice of the customer.
The gl has just over 70k miles and other then three sets of tires and one set of break pads excluding oild/filter changes it has not needed anything.
