white 216 w/Black roof, 030 black wheels, 65 diffuser, Meisterschaft Exhaust
SubscribeHere are the following mods shown in pics:
Black painted grill
Black vinyl wrapped roof
Black genuine AMG 030 wheels with OEM 63/65 Sport Conti 2s
65 diffuser painted black
Meisterchaft off road Exhaust: THE SOUND IS AWESOME!!!
Debating if I should lower and lightly smoke the tail lights.
I want to lower because it will look awesome lowered and I have lowered just about every car I have owned in the past but I am a little older now and don't want to bounce around like a kid in a benz. Plus, I really enjoy the stock ride and the fact that I don't have to go side ways on every speed bump.
The tail lights I will most likely smoke but very very lightly. Almost all new luxury/performance cars from the factory have tinted tail lights and I think it will be a good contrast with the white. In the 1st picture, the left light actually look smoked due to the shadow and I think that's about how dark I would go. Thoughts on that?
Anyway, enjoy the pics:

Please lower it. All you have to do is press the raise button over speed bumps. Where did you get that rear diffuser?

Yeah still debating on to lower or not. Dont want to mess up the ABC as it is not cheap to repair or replace. To me, pushing the lower and raise button all the time is just asking for future ABC problems. Originally Posted by rleepremier

Diffuser is stock amg painted black.
Looking good. Where did you get the amg diffuser from? Would like to get my hands on one of those too. Is that the Meist SUS GT?
Try this on your headlights. I really like the look and itll prob look better on white. Just an idea.

Some pictures of my car with smoked tail lights. Might be a little too dark for some people's taste especially on a black car but I love it because we have day time running lights here which gives a good contrast in my opinion

I would love to smoke my headlights but the only way i would do it is to open them up and smoke the inside, instead of just tinting the outside. I just dont know if i trust somebody to do that as these lights are not cheap. Also, i dont think i will own this car for too long and i want to make sure any mods i do can easily be reversed. By the way, your car looks ver nice. Any closer shots of the tail lights? How did you tint them?
I'll take a pic and post it later. A lot of places I went to said that they would spray paint the tails but like you I do not want to do something that's permanent. Took it to the place where I got my windows tinted from and surprisingly they had a film for the tails too so they tinted it for me then. They can be removed just as if you were to remove tints from your windows. Wasn't expensive either; cost $100.
For the headlights everyone has been telling me that we'll spray them from the inside but I don't want that. Apparently this one shop applies Lamin-x film to the headlights and they say they can cut it out to whatever shape I want. Will go to them sometime next week so let's see how that goes.
Do you mind telling me how much the diffuser and the exhausts cost you?

Here's a close up. Initially my plan was to smoke them and have the reverse light part cut out for a contrast but the guy said he had done that previously and that it didn't look good; that it looked like an eye at the back of the car lol. however, he said that he can cut it out whenever if i do change my mind about it. Any thoughts on that?
Ive seen the film applied on the lights and to be honest i think it looks bad. You can see the bumps in it and it doesnt look smooth. Painting looks better but becomes a problem if you have to change it back.
To do the headlights right, you have to open up the sealed lights, paint and bake the light housing (the chrome part) and reseal the case. Just painting the outside or inside glass wont look right, it will look cheesy. The best way would be to buy the amg 63/65 lights as they are darkened inside from the factory like most amg cars.
The exhaust retails for $3000 but i got mine for a little more than $2000 shipped and installed. I paid around $500 for the diffuser shipped, painted, and installed.
