CL 600 Tuned - Issues
1. the need to be stock to pass NYS inspection each year and
2. the fact that the remote flashing tools (to reflash to stock) do not work with his year and model.
Buying a spare ECU seems out of the question and the need to send it in to reflash back to stock each time it gets serviced and then again to get it tuned seems like a cumbersome way to address these concerns.
Has anyone figured out a good solution short of not tuning?

Honestly unless you are really driving aggressively it is no that much of a difference. Most of the time I'm in traffic and just commuting and I don't know that it changed things that much. I have had the occasion to really stand on it and the car is scary fast for such a large car. I did not have the car very long before I did the tune and so it is hard for me to make a very accurate assessment.
