'01 CL600 door close woes

Hopefully some of you veterans can help me out with this one. My passenger side door close assist keeps shorting out or something. It works, then doesnt work, but I can get it to start back working if I disconnect/reconnect the battery. Is there a relay or something thats going out that I can replace? Its been happening for a few months and I cant link it to anything that I or my passengers might be doing to throw it out.

Seems the wiring harness in the door for the closing assist is broken/frayed. Happened to me when I had my CL 500. Apparently after many years of opening and closing the doors, the wiring gets a kink in it. I used an independent shop that spent a week tracing the broken wire but they got it done. Soon after I sold the vehicle since I had it for 6 years. Hope this helps. You may find additional help posting in the w215 forum as well.

Try posting in the CORRECT forum. This is for '07 and newer models.
