CL500

I have a CL 500 2001 and getting rid of it because of the ABC and getting a 2007 and up CL 550. My question what problems do the new CL have and are they a reliable car?

I wondered the same question, as I decided to buy an 08 CL, instead of the '05/06 CL65's I had been set on getting, due to the many issues they have.
I don't know if its due to the 216's still being relatively new, but they seem to be more problem free than the 215's. I say this because I looked through over 25 Carfax's of 215's and probably 10 of 216's and many of the 215's had repairs in the first 25k miles, while none of the 216's did.
Plus, the quality rating agencies really gave MB low marks in the late 90's and early 2000's until around 2007 when quality rankings went way up and association with Chrysler went way down, hmmmm.
But I have heard rumors that the '07's had some teething issues as they were first year of the 216. But no real data on that. I do know that on the CL600 many options were not offered until 2008, one reason I bought that year.
But I think the 07 CL550 has Airmatic, so one less possible problem for you.

A few that I found missing;
-Dynamic rear view camera - where the lane guidance actually curves depending on how much the steering wheel is turned, very nice for backing in between two cars.
-Blind Spot Assist
-Parking guidance
There might be a few others, but I can't think of them right now, but these are the ones that are also missing from early year '08's.
So mostly to do with parking or lane changing, nothing performance wise.
