It is easier to get to via voice command. Press the steering wheel button under your right thumb and then say "SAT RADIO".

I too had this problem about a year ago. The Mercedes dealer tech had to replace the entire command unit after running tests on it. A largely unknown and rare problem. Mine was fortunately covered under warranty, however, Mercedes is aware that some units failed and may cover yours under goodwill.
