CL ipod / Aux connection HELP needed

CL ipod / Aux connection HELP needed
A friend owns a CL63 2011 (lucky him) this is the Middle East version, pretty similar to the rest of the world, however I am facing a problem figuring out what is wrong with connecting an ipod or any other audio source, on both the Media or the Aux interfaces.
The car comes with both a USB jack and an interface cable in the dash and neither is working.
The command shows the AUX in gray, and when you chose the media interface it states no media found (or something like that)
I used three types of cables:
- A0018278504 - It comes with both ipod and AUX from the other end (first from left in the picture)
- A0018279004 - It comes with a simple AUX (2nd from left)
- A0018279104 - it comes with a simple USB female connector (3rd from left)
Now how can we, at least, get this AUX option "ungrayed" so we're able to select it? I'll appreciate any help !!
