ABC PUMP CL550
Need replacement ABC pump.
Any suggestions (where to buy more cheaply) beyond the dealership ($2526.00 +labour) will be appreciated. Thank you very much.
No light on dash but loud whirring noise becoming too objectionable.

Price seems high. I found a site that shows the following
ABS pump assy
MSRP Online Price
$1,540.00 $1,232.00
See http://www.mbonlineparts.com/parts/2...agramCallOut=1
Only issue for you is they do not ship to Canada, only to US for free.
You might want to check some US dealers and see if they will ship to you. The US MSRP is significantly less than the Canada price.

Stephen, if new, you should snap up the one you found - a very good price (compared to MB Canada) - then have McNally Motors install it - real professionals - stand behind their work. They install these pumps on a regular basis.
My discovery was serendipitous and a one-off. My purchase was not from a ongoing business with several of these ABC pumps sitting on a shelf. I took a chance that the pump was as advertised (new) and would be shipped! It arrived, was installed - so far so good. Peripherally they appear to be jobbers, buying the odd lot remnants from failed repair shops.
Having said that I just e-mailed my ABC source for permission to share his/her (husband/wife) contact info - for you to deal directly with them to determine if there is a possibility for you.
Will get back to you as soon as I receive a reply.
Surprised there is not a vibrant rebuilt pump source. Given you will replace yours later, my assumption is that your car has been "put up" for the Winter - if so perhaps you might be more cost effective to find a pump re builder - can't be much to it.
Suggest you do idler pulley at same time as part is cheap for MB (and known for failure) and the wrench will be working close by - save a second inconvenience later.
Cheers, Peter
