I like this one, especially the interior and exterior color. Carmax is good because they offer fabulous extended warranties.

hey guys!
Thought it would be nice to give an update on how ownership has been with my CL. It has been a little over 3 years since i bought it, over 80k miles, and mechanically it has been sound..that's not to say it didn't have any issues..
at this point, Ive done the following: 2 sets of brake pads and rotors, about 6 rims and 8 tires(this car doesn't take potholes as well as my infiniti did! that took some getting used to..)cabin air filters, engine air filter, windshield wiper blades, oil changes, transmission service, drive belt..now here comes some of the mechanical issues Ive ran into..at around 70k miles the starter had to be replaced($900) at 80k miles the heat stopped working and the driver side door shock had to be replaced(repaired under warranty) at 83k miles the climate control blower stopped working and needed to be replaced..at the moment that is all i can remember, if anything else comes to mind i will be sure to add it to this post.
I would love for you guys to chime in if you've had similar experiences with this car and what else to keep an eye out for..i was in 2 minor accidents on the passenger side front quarter panel that had to have some suspension work performed(i assume) and so far so good. My service advisor warned me about issues with the abc suspension and kind of frightened me, but i love this car WAY to much to get rid of it. theres no other car i would even consider lol..

No issues at all so far
I've had nothing. Front brakes at 80% rear at 60%. Front tires are worn on the inside of both sides. Rear tires get original replacements in the morning. 2,500 miles and they are slick as glass. Just an oil change or two and no mechanical issue what so ever. They did replace the infa red sensor for the key and the door latch but that's it. All under warranty. No scrapes or curbed wheel and still no defects in the paint and body so far. It's like the day it was built. Best car I've ever owned. Btw, is your car a 600 or a 550. The 550 suspension isn't so expensive to fix, it's the 600's that will break the bank. Mine is under warranty until 2021.

No even close
No, not even the same animal. The 550 is a V8 with Airnatic. The 600 has the Active Body Control and a V-12 Bi-turbo. They don't even function the same way. Also, the 10 is completely a different car that the 11-14. They only share a platform and a few body panels. The rest was revised the following year. The 07-10 are known for issues but not as many as the 2000-2006.

thank you the info. this is why i love the forum and makes it an excellent tool for learning about our cars..basically what i want to know is how bad of an idea is it keep this car after warranty is up(i am keeping it either way lol i love it that much)what should i expect? and what are the most important maintenance procedures to keep on top of? i just hope things dont start falling apart after warranty runs out
