2013 CL550 / iPhone Problem

My iPhone via bluetooth works fine, but to play music via the Media interface is a problem. I have the Mercedes A000 827 12 00 Media Interface Connector to iPhone lightning connector cable (iPhone 6). When I switch to the Media connector via Command, it says "Incompatible Device". WTF?
Anyone know what's going on?

Update

Never got my iPhone music files to play via the media cable, but purchased iTunes transferred to a SD card (there's a slot under the CD player) work great.

I bought the new USB lightning cable from the W222 S and it charges the phone and plays music from the phone. Throw the old cable away, it was good if you had an iPhone 4 or older technology but now you have a newer style phone, use the newer cable. It works perfectly.
