Least invasive way to upgrade exhaust noise on CL500 (W216)
Hi guys,
I recently bought a 2008 CL500 - it is an amazing car but the only thing I miss is a nice exhaust noise that sounds a bit more like V8. I had a M6 and have driven the CL63 AMG and I love the sound of those. I have done my research and know that I can do a couple of things - replace resonator with X-pipe, change entire exhaust system, etc. I would do all of these, but my main concern is resale value of the car. Would it drop, if I do any changes to the exhaust? What is the least invasive method I can use to upgrade my exhaust noise, without impacting the resale value of the car?
In particular, I have been looking at the following (I am based in London):
- Replacing resonator (and possible also second cats) with an X-pipe Link
- Installing new exhaust tailpipes/silencers (are these the same?) Link
Which will produce the best results? I do not want my car to be extremely noisy, but would like to have an exhaust noise similar to CL63 AMG. Again, the less invasive, the better, as I do not want to impair resale value.
Thanks a lot!
